New blue 'do :D

I've celebrated a month of having blue hair! Well not entirely blue, I think a picture would best describe it :)

Tell me what ya'll think!

New Year already?!

Hello all, how is everyone? At the moment, the Sydney weather is playing games with my body. First up, it threw some heat on me, then passed some cold, tackled flu into me and threw more heat. A flu in the Summer? Aw geez thanks...
Hope everyone celebrated the NYE with passion! Its all we got now with all this talk about recession and lack of this and no future that, personally, I thought the parties were quite minimal.
Speaking of which, it seems music, mostly dance music, is either going back in time or becoming more simpler (I'll say it again, minimal). As a DJ, you stay on the lookout for new music and you try to keep up with the trend, it seems that house is moving into techno territory, trance into progressive or deadmau5 and techno moving to its funk roots. I mentioned deadmau5 simply because ever since his Not Exactly track made waves around the world, everyone seems to be copying it. The guys in the production duo Inpetto are dead guilty, with at least 4 releases sounding like your typical house groove and stabbing melody as it rises and falls...predictable? YES.

I've been away from home for a bit, and currently enjoying my time back in my humble abroad, no thanks to the people at work reckoning that cutting my hours will be cheaper for them. At least I have been putting this time to use! I've sat down and wrote a new song called Evangelist, name taken straight from the dictionary. I've also been working on my health. A month and 2 weeks ago I tipped the scales at 81kgs, from years of neglect and grazing on heavy carbs.
Recently I became a bit of a healthie, looking up labels and counting calories.
After changing (well trying to) my diet, and some hardcore jump roping sessions, I now weigh 71kgs...which was 70 until I decided to help myself to some watercracks and tasty dip!!
My new years reso is to weigh in the low 60s and maintain it...a weight I haven't been for years and years.
Now now, you might think I'm being a bit obsessive with image, maybe I am! However its something much more, I want to regain confidence, lead an active lifestyle, go out to clubs and play out at clubs without worries, to think clear and above all, feel positive about everything.
Life is about ups and downs, but life can be generally better if you focus and prepare yourself for anything, to tackle it head on.

I plan on being more active blogging as well...don't want people to think I'm just wasting space hehe

Ah well, thanks for your time, hope you have a nice one!

Hello all! Recently I've been returning to my roots (musically speaking) and fell in love once again to the sounds of techno. I've just put a mix together that shows the style I'm most comfortable with at the moment. It is also my demo I send out to DJs and promoters to try and get work.

Here's the tracklist:

Tracklisting1] John Dahlback - Blink (Dim Chris Mix)
2] SoLee - Different
3] Alex Costanzo - Shines Like Gold
4] Drive Dealers - Telegins Dream
5] One Night Only - Just for Tonight (Seamus Haji Mix)
6] Electrobios & Interplay - With You
7] James Unk - Glitch Control
8] Cari Lekebusch - Shaded
9] Jorn van Deynhoven - Godspeed (Joshua Cunningham Mix)
10] Paco Osuna & Anderson - Noiser
11] Redstar - Rush (Onova Mix)
12] Mike Koglin - On My Way (7th Heaven Mix)

It's housey, its techno-y, its trancey...whatever, just give it a listen :)

First Review

Now, talking about oldies, there's this particular blues tune from the 50's-60's by big man Howlin' Wolf. The bloke was a 6 foot 3, 300 pound, mean machine with pipes that will never be heard again unless labels and radio stations focus on talent instead of potential profits (imo anyway).

The "Bloke" they call Howlin':

The song in question is "Smokestack Lightnin'" an absolute classic where Mr.Wolf oozes his sorrows as gentle as a chainsaw. His lyrics are inspiring, to say the least, "Whoa-oh, tell me, baby.....Why don't ya hear me cryin? Whoo-hooo, whoo-hooo, Whooo".
Poor guy gets played by a woman, simple enough.

Howlin' Wolf' is so damn phenomenal, I personally like him more than the other Chicago Blues legend, Muddy Waters. Search this baby up, and listen to this man cryin'. It's blues at its best.

Rate-o-meter:
10/10

Just letting you know..

I might do some music reviews when I feel like it. I'm a trance head, but I'm also a music head. I love all music. So when I listen to stuff ranging from Sam Cooke or the Temptations, right up to 30 Seconds From Mars (God Forbid) and Muse, and feel like sharing my thoughts on them, then I will.
